July 7

Today we woke up early and packed up from our luxury Marriott hotel and walked down to the train station. We had to run because it was arriving in 4 minutes but we all made it. The train ride was short but the small amount of scenery that we saw was all green meadows with flowers and cows grazing along. Very pretty. When we got into Lucerne it looked pretty average but as we rode along the lake-oh my goodness- so beautiful! Our hotel was the only one in the city to be on lake-front property. I fell in love with this place. Our room looked right out over the dayWe pretty much hanged out at the hotel because there’s not too much to do in the city. We grabbed dinner and I had a very interesting cheese plate. At least I can say I’ve eaten Swiss cheese in Switzerland now and cross it off my food bucket list! Afterwards Sara and I went down to the sauna. It was crazy hot and Sara could only take it for a little while. I got out after about 20-30 min and then went back up to take a shower. Afterwards I went outside, sunbathing with Sara and all of her family and I watched the sun go down on the boat dock. This was definitely one of my favorite days on the trip because of the scenery and how relaxing it was too bad we didn’t spend another day in Lucerne.

Love you all sorry I’m behind on updates! I’m coming home today:)

July 5 and 6

July 5

We flew over to Zurich today and I wasn’t feeling too great because of the cold I had. Luckily, for me, it was a short flight and there we were! In Switzerland! When we got to our hotel we found out that the Ahmed’s had a reward card so we got free wifi and access to the executive lounge! Woohoo! It was great, free food 24/7. Then we went up to our rooms and our view overlooking the city was absolutely gorgeous!! We found out a huge concert called Züri Fäscht was going on that only takes place every 3 years. It was a pretty big deal. So around 5 we headed down there and it was crazy packed! Think New York on New Year’s Eve and that’s how packed it was! There were tons of bars, music booths, cute but $$$$ shops, and different carnival rides and games. It was great! Around 10 we were looking for a good place to stand for the firework show! Funny that we get a fireworks show a day after the 4th of July! Around 10:30 it started and I began to film the entire thing! It was gorgeous because the fireworks reflected off of the water. The whole thing lasted a whole 30 min and I saw fireworks I’ve never seen before here. It was a great show and my arm hurt after recording the entire thing. Mr. Ahmed said that he had heard the show costed them about 700,00 dollars! Wow! Definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip! Afterwards we came home to the executive room with Ali and Sara and I learned how to play the card game, Egyptian! And I was absolutely horrible at it! Haha! It was a very good day!

July 6

Today was pretty much a down day because I was feeling a little sick and so was Sara. I went to the doctor earlier in the morning and it helped me not stress so much about me being sick. He said I had a simple cold and my ears are feeling funky just because of the plane. It gave me a good peace of mind. We went out for a little and walked around. We looked at H&M and didn’t really find anything. Then we stopped by a couple of watch stores where the watches and different jewelry was absolutely gorgeous! Then we passed by a little souvenir shop and holy moly! The Swiss and their knives! They had butcher knives, little knives, huge knives, you name it they got it! Later we passed through the festival again and it was still pretty crowded. We saw the big church by the Ferris wheel and headed home to the hotel. I grabbed lunch there and even though
the portion sizes are very small, they’re very filling. I felt better later on in the evening after taking a nap. To our surprise we saw that the firework show was different than the one we saw the day before while we watched in our hotel. We wanted to see better and hear better so we went downstairs and Mr. Ahmed came with us. We watched the rest and there was this really cool shooting star one that lasted incredibly long for a firework. Sara and I returned to the executive room to play cards and an hour or two later we came back to our room to sleep! Going on a train mañana!🚞

Goodnight y’all! Love you, miss you mucho.

July 4

Happy 4th of July everyone!

This morning we woke up super early for our Budapest trip! We had to run because we were running a little late for the bus. We slept the entire bus ride (missing out on a bunch of scenery:/) and when we got into Budapest it was absolutely gorgeous! Way better than I expected. The money was really confusing to work out but I got a couple of things, luckily they accepted euros. It was interesting because our tour guide said it was also called the city of caves because on the Buda side there are tons of them! We ate some pretty good mushroom soup, literal grilled cheese, cheese that they grilled, and some yummy crepes. Afterwards we got back on the bus along the Danube river and got some free time. We went out to get some pastries and everything looked amazing. They had macaroons stacked up like trees, cakes galore, and tons of gelato. I got the gelato and then we toured around some souvenir shops. After we hopped back onto the bus and prepared for the long journey on the way back home. I stayed up for this and the scenery resembled the sound of music. I laughed and told Sara that I wanted to stay here for the rest of my life just singing, The hills are alive to the sound of music… About three hours later we were home and we went and got Indian dinner, as always super good. Then we went to our favorite ice cream shop and grabbed the newly founded flavor poppy-seed. Sara didn’t like it as much as I did though! We then walked through the area with all the shops window-shopping as almost everything in Vienna closes at 6. Back at the hotel we packed up and got ready for our flight to Switzerland.

Goodbye Vienna, I’ll miss you a ton! Love you all and miss you too.

We woke up this morning and got ready for the hop on hop off bus. We got on the palace route and before we got to the palace we stopped at the famous Strauss statue. We took pictures with him holding our hands out like violins like Strauss was doing. Then off to the palace we went, which has been my favorite place in Vienna so far. The palace was gorgeous and we tried Almdudler there. Almdudler is a herbal tea lemonade that is carbonated and is super good! It resembles beer in its looks and I got the idea from my friend who lives in Budapest. I enjoyed it very much! Then we explored the palace and got a listening tour. The palace in Austria is SO beautiful, especially the ballroom and the gardens are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Before we left we went to see someone teaching how to make an apple strudel. She was very friendly and the apple strudel was to die for! After the palace visit we went St. Stephens cathedral, the place where Mozart was married. One of the prettiest churches I’ve ever seen. Afterwards I changed info my polka dot 50s looking dress and we all headed out to see a opera/orchestra Mozart concert. When we went to our seats, to our surprise, we were seating on the stage! The concert was very beautiful and nice to listen to and there was only a one or two boring parts. Afterwards we grabbed another eis greissler. This ice cream is to die for as well! Hugs and kisses to y’all! 😘

July 2 -Vienna

Today we woke up and got some super yummy breakfast. I got a croissant covered in Nutella! (They actually have Nutella spread like butter spread for bread😍) Then put my cup in a little machine and it made hot cocoa for me! Very cool! After breakfast we got ready and then went out to start the bus tours. I thought this tour was a little better than the one in London. We learned that Mozart and Beethoven lived here which is crazy to think about. Austria is super beautiful even the McDonalds is extremely fancy the only thing is I feel like such a foreigner! Everyone here speaks German! And if they do speak english it’s pretty rough. We visited an ice cream shop and worried about not being understood thankfully vanilla is just vanille in German. The ice cream and pastries here are to die for!! In the park the Ahmed’s were approached by an Indian Hindu man who talked and asked for a donation for his temple. He told the Ahmed’s about their future and it was pretty spot on. About Mr. Ahmed’s business and how Mrs. Ahmed worried a lot about her health. I didn’t really understand the conversation at all because it was in (and forgive me for possible butchering this) Urdu, the language the Ahmed’s speak. It was pretty interesting. After seeing the sites crossing the Danube river, taking pics at parliament, and looking at some cool graffiti we stopped to eat pizza and more gelato. The transport here is so vast. You can take a train, a bus, a trolley, the subway, a car, or a bike! For the bikes the first hour is even free! And after each hour is only a euro, pretty sweet. Then we went home to our beautiful hotel and are starting to sleep. Perfect day in Vienna, first day of the whole trip I could wear shorts! Hugs and kisses!

This morning I woke up around 2am and Sara and I packed up. When our taxi picked us up around 4am we said our goodbyes to London. In the airport we checked in our bags and as we waited I tried to upload as many pictures as possible to here because we had free wifi. I got a strawberry power smoothie for breakfast. When we got on the plane it was cool because when we were getting on the plane we walked up the stairs to it. The flight was pretty short but I couldn’t sleep because there was a pretty cute guy sitting to my left and I didn’t want to accidentally sleep on his shoulder! When our plane landed we got a taxi to our hotel. Our taxi driver only spoke German and it seems like a pretty German dominated place. When we got to the Hotel it was much nicer than the one in London. Our bathroom here is the size of our room there. We slept for about two hours and then got up for lunch. I had a pasta, potato and cheese thing. It sure was interesting. Then we went back for a while and then we went out shopping. The architecture here is beautiful, There’s a church right in the middle of a giant shopping center. We got ice cream, looked around and then we got a pastry that was really good at a bakery. Now we’re sitting in our hotel room watching German television which is extremely strange. Goodnight y’all! Much love from Austria!
